From Pak Bara

Officially, the first speedboat from Pak Bara to Koh Lipe departs at 11:30 am, while the last one leaves at 3:00 pm. In high season, the first trip is often at 10:00 am, and on some days the last speedboat departs at 4:00 pm.

From Bangkok

Plane

Daily flights depart from the capital to the south of Thailand. You can choose to fly direct flights to Trang or Hat Yai airport; from there we can arrange transfer to Pak Bara harbor by minibus or taxi.

Airlines flying to Hat Yai and Trang are:

  • Thai Airways

  • Airasia (the company offers an all‑inclusive package: flight–minibus–boat)

  • Lion Air

  • Nok Air

We recommend taking very early morning flights to reach Koh Lipe during the day.

Bus

There are several buses heading towards the south; you can choose to get to Trang or Hat Yai, and from there continue by minibus to Pak Bara port. Another option is to take the bus to Satun, get off at La Ngu (30 km before Satun), and then take a local taxi for 25 baht which will bring you directly to Pak Bara port.

We advise traveling by night bus, arriving at your destination in the morning and reaching Koh Lipe during the day.

Train

From Hualampong train station in Bangkok, night trains depart every day. We recommend booking your ticket in advance with direction Trang or Hat Yai. Once you arrive at either destination, you must take a minibus to Pak Bara port.

In high season, from Trang, you can go to Hat Yao port, where every day there is a ferry departing at 13:00.

From Trang

From the port of Hat Yao, just outside the city of Trang, during high season you can take the daily ferry departing at 13:00.

From Phuket

There are Phuket connections to Koh Lipe by sea, available only during the high season, which runs from late November to mid‑April. During this period, there are daily departures by speedboat and ferry.

From the islands of southern Thailand

To get to Koh Lipe from the smaller islands, you can use the speedboat and ferry departing from Phuket, as they dock along the trip at Phi Phi Islands, Koh Lanta, Koh Kradan, and other smaller islands.

From Phuket, you can also reach Pak Bara by taxi or private minivan. The taxi is the fastest option, but there are also daily buses departing from Phuket Town toward Trang, Satun, and Hat Yai.

From Malaysia

From October until the end of May, there are two daily ferries from Langkawi to Koh Lipe — one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
