Family Song Koh Lipe is a resort featuring fan‑cooled bungalows built in a traditional island style, with some units constructed entirely of wood. The bathrooms in the fan bungalows have open‑air sections to keep the bungalow cooler and avoid a fully enclosed structure.
The air‑conditioned bungalows are more modern, built in 2026, with large and spacious rooms ideal for families or groups, designed in a more European style. Fan bungalows can accommodate up to 4 guests, while air‑conditioned rooms can host up to 5 guests.
Family Song is known for offering very affordable accommodation compared to Koh Lipe’s usual prices and has always been one of the most budget‑friendly resorts with an excellent value for money.
The resort is located on Pattaya Beach, just 100 meters from the sea. Walking Street is only 5 minutes away by walking along the beach, Sunrise Beach is 15 minutes, and Sunset Beach is 10 minutes.
The fan bungalows were built in 2013–2014, the air‑conditioned rooms in 2018, and the newest air‑conditioned bungalows in 2026, for a total of 29 accommodations.
Family Song Koh Lipe is known as one of the best places to organize fishing trips with the Chao Leh. We also offer exclusive private‑boat snorkeling programs.
Family Song Koh Lipe was created through the collaboration between an Italian from Romagna and a Chao Leh family (the “sea gypsies”), who are also the owners of the Family Restaurant. The Family Restaurant is one of the most well‑known restaurants on Koh Lipe, operating since the early 2000.
Family Song & Social Awareness
Family Song is very active in supporting stray dogs and stray cats in Koh Lipe. We are part of a group of volunteers that every day provides food for several stray pet communities from our area up to Sunset Beach.
Part of the income from bookings made through the website will be donated to buy food and medical treatments.

My Story: How I Arrived in Koh Lipe and Why I Never Left
I first arrived on Koh Lipe in January 2008, thinking I would stay just a few days. Instead, from the moment I stepped on the island, I felt something different, something I had never experienced anywhere else.
Koh Lipe welcomed me with its crystal-clear sea, its white sand, and above all with the Chao Leh, the sea gypsies. Their smiles, their simplicity, their way of living made me feel at home instantly. I connected with them in a way that is still hard to explain today.
Back then, Koh Lipe was a small paradise: a handful of wooden bungalows, a few restaurants, and a life that flowed slowly and peacefully. I stayed only one week, but when I left, I already knew one thing: I would come back.
And I did.
Season after season, I returned. I spent my days with the Chao Leh family, went fishing, helped at the Family Restaurant, sold snorkeling and fishing trips to Italian visitors, and slowly became part of their everyday life. They welcomed me, taught me, trusted me. At some point, they practically adopted me.
From that bond, in 2013, Family Song was born. On a small piece of land behind the restaurant, we built our first 10 bungalows. Then 5 more, then 6 rooms, and later another 5 bungalows. We never wanted to become a big resort — our goal has always been to preserve the spirit of the old Koh Lipe. A simple place, built with heart, respect, and family.
In 2022, we took another step and opened Family Song Tours & Travels, continuing what I started more than fifteen years ago: taking people out to sea with the Chao Leh, exploring the islands, fishing, snorkeling, and sharing the beauty of this archipelago with those who visit us.
But Koh Lipe didn’t just give me a job and a home. In 2021, it gave me my daughter Giulia — the greatest gift of my life.
Looking back, I could never have imagined that a simple trip in 2008 would lead me here: a life on the other side of the world, a family, a business built from almost nothing, and a bond with an island that has become part of who I am.
People often ask me if I would make the same choice again. My answer is yes. Absolutely yes.
It hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, changes, difficult moments. But when I look at everything that has happened, I feel proud. I know I have built something meaningful — not big in size, but big in value, in memories, in life.
Koh Lipe didn’t just become a place I returned to. It became home.
Supporting youth and sport in mother country
Cristiano Sala, the owner of Family Song Koh Lipe, is well known for being a strong man with a very good heart. He is always ready to support beings in need, both humans and pets. Besides this — and not less important — he is always committed to supporting youth and sport in his hometown.
Understanding the importance of sport discipline in the education of the young generation, he contributes by sponsoring the local football team Sala Cesenatico.
